Nestled within Liverpool’s revered Georgian Quarter, the adaptive reuse of 33 Rodney Street as the new home for the Liverpool School of English showcases a sensitive approach to conservation architecture.
This Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, built in the late 18th century, exemplifies period craftsmanship with its refined brickwork, stone embellishments, and classically proportioned sash windows.
Known as the “Harley Street of the North,” Rodney Street is renowned for its architectural heritage, its stately facades contributing to Liverpool’s cultural and historic significance. In this transformative project, every design intervention is undertaken with a commitment to heritage preservation, honoring original features including the building’s elegant cornices, doorways, and timber-framed fenestration.
